The design was up to us. And the result, as you can see, was
stunning! The handle begins with a genuine acorn that we found
while traveling through Washington state. There was a very old oak
tree that had dropped a great many acorns, and we just had to collect a
few. The next section of the handle is oak wood, followed by
magnolia wood. The magnolia portion of the wand has been grooved
and then wrapped in a deep purple hemp twine. There are 6 round
amethyst stones integrated into this design as well. On each side
of the handle is an Australian fire opal, one a high quality opal with a
freeform shape, and the other a lower quality opal that has been carved
into the shape of the Goddess's face. The latter is an antique
acquired by the woman who commissioned this wand, slightly damaged but
beautiful all the same. Finally, the wand is finished out with a
slender willow branch that makes up the shaft section of the wand.
This wand was crafted on the full moon, October 16, 2005. It was
created to honor the Goddess Damara, an Anglo-Celtic fertility goddess
sacred to the woman who commissioned this work of art. Damara was
called upon in the sacred circle before the creation of the wand,
inspiring every aspect of its creation.
Though this wand is no longer in our hands and it is a one-of-kind
creation never to be duplicated, it serves as an excellent example of
what Goldentree Wands is capable of creating for you upon request.
We are more than willing to work with you on every aspect of your design
