Quality If you have been perusing other wands on the internet before coming to us, I am certain you have noticed the trend in wands. If metal, they are molded and mass produced. If wood, they are turned on a lathe like a table leg and come in "lines" of designs, all identical to each other. Some even go so far as to use two wooden dowels to create a single wand, a small unimproved dowel for the shaft glued into a larger one for the handle, barely improved by a small amount of turning. This is not how wands should be made. Yes, if a wand is consecrated and cleansed it is useful. But how can a craftsman create a wand of any true value with such unfeeling? Magick is something that is felt, not packaged. One cannot mass produce it. At Goldentree, before we created a single wand we asked ourselves a simple question; How did the ancient peoples of the world who practiced ritual magick create their wands? The answer was pretty simple as well. Without the more advanced methods of today, they would have had to create each wand chip by chip from the branch of a tree of their choosing. In other words, at every step of the wand creation process they would have had to fully sense their wand, shape it in a unique way that suited not only their thoughts but the form of the branch they were shaping. The way we create our wands is exactly the same. Each wand begins as a tree branch, an unimproved piece of wood. With a knife, we begin to chip away the branch to reveal the wand within, sensing the grain of the wood and shaping the wand to suit it. Each wand we create is unique, a piece of art as well as a useful magickal tool. A Modern Touch Despite our dedication to preserving old crafting traditions, we do understand that we live in a differt time than those who once danced naked in the moonlight before we were ever concieved. We have tools they did not, the ability to improve upon old ways they never could have thought of. As such we have adapted our wands accordingly. Each wand is coated in a protective sealant, keeping it safe from the weather and from scratching. They are waterproof, because we know that pagans do not hide from the elements but embrace them fully. And that is all. Tradition meets the modern age, the best of both worlds preserved.
